(Why Greenhouse Ventilation is Important)

Owning a greenhouse means staving off the winter or getting a jump start on spring. But warmer spring days can be devastating in your greenhouse if you're not prepared. Just one hot day may be all it takes to destroy your crop. Too much heat magnified in an enclosed space doesn't make for an ideal environment, as the news of global warming reminds us nearly every day. We are used to hearing about greenhouse gasses and the ill effects of the trapped heat on our environment. Yet, greenhouses are designed to do just that- trap heat. The secret in staving off too much of a good thing lies in proper ventilation.

The Oat (Avena sativa) is a species of cereal grain, and the seeds of this plant. They are used for food for people and as fodder for animals, especially poultry and horses. Oat straw is used as animal bedding and sometimes as animal feed.

Growing your indoor garden in a small space such as a closet can be quite beneficial to the hobbyist gardener. The grow space will be small and out of the way, yet easy to work with. Even the smallest of closet spaces can provide you with a good amount of fresh grown vegetables year round.

Seeds require warm, moist growing mediums. Most seeds tell you the required germination temperatures on the package. By following the temperature requirements you will get the fastest starts. You will be able to maintain these temperatures with a propagation heating mat. (It is not recommended to use one of those heating pads that help your aching muscles, because they can become too hot and can also be a fire hazard if they become wet).
