Prev-AM®, a new Fungicide, Pesticide, Miticide product, has been approved for commercialization by the California DPR. Mark Russell, Sales Director for Oro Agri Inc. (formerly COP) stated that PREV-AM is unique in the fact that it not only can be used a IPM tool for immediate knockdown and prevention but that also has a 12 hr REI and PHI which is extremely valuable in many fresh and multi-harvest crops.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 14, 2004 -- Prev-AM®, a new Fungicide, Pesticide, Miticide product, has been approved for commercialization by the California DPR. Mark Russell, Sales Director for Oro Agri Inc. (formerly COP) stated that PREV-AM is unique in the fact that it not only can be used a IPM tool for immediate knockdown and prevention but that also has a 12 hr REI and PHI which is extremely valuable in many fresh and multi-harvest crops.
Diverse Crop approval
PREV-AM is approved for use on berries, fruit & nut trees, strawberries, leafy, brassica, legume, fruiting and cucurbit vegetables, fiber crops, ornamentals, hops and tobacco. According to Russell, Oro Agri ™ plans to focus its initial sales efforts on crops in progress such as strawberries, nuts, tomatoes and other vegetables. Mark further stated that, given the diverse crop approval, going to market at the same time will be a challenge. ORO AGRI ™ will rely extensively on California appointed distributors such as Plant Protection Sciences, Britz Fertilizer and Dune Company. Additional distribution and dealer relationships are being evaluated to gain thorough coverage of the vast and diverse California and US market.
Diverse Pest and Disease approvals
The California DPR approved PREV-AM for use against many pests including such as mites, aphids and thrips. Given the extensive efficacy data now completed, ORO AGRI ™ plans to submit this data to CA-DPR for label inclusion of other Federal EPA approved uses on pests such as whitefly, mealy-bug, lygus-bugs, beet army worm, leafhopper and other bugs. Other western US states, functioning under the Federal EPA label guidelines, can use PREV-AM for control of the insects included above. ORO AGRI ™ also plans to formalize and introduce Ovicidal efficacy data to the various agencies in the next year and more information will be available in the future.
On the disease side, the California PREV-AM label is approved for use against many of the Federal EPA approved diseases such powdery mildew, downy mildew, botrytis and late blight. ORO AGRI ™ further plans to submit data to California DPR for label inclusion of other diseases such as bunch rot, brown rust, anthracnose, dollar spot and fairy ring that are already included in the Federal EPA registration. Initial tests on other molds/fungi are also promising and more information will follow.
Cost effective IPM product PREV-AM, now used internationally, has become known to enhance the effectiveness of an effective IPM program at a very affordable cost per acre. PREV-AM has been approved by the California League of Food Processors and label and MSDS information is available at www.CDMS.net
