Aeroponics gardening is similar to hydroponics, except in aeroponics system, plant's roots are air-borne or suspended.

Aeroponics system are generally reserved for the most experienced growers. This is a very advance technique that requires diligent attention. When plants are grown in an aeroponics system their roots are misted with nutrients within a chamber.

A pump pushes the nutrient solution through sprayers, misting the roots while providing sufficient oxygen. If you are unable to carefully monitor your garden, an aeroponics system is likely not the best method to use.

Aeroponics system requires constant monitoring and can be difficult to maintain. Salts from the nutrient solution tend to build up in the spray head and cause it to clog and malfunction.

Aeroponics system can offer fantastic results growing plants, however, it can be unforgiving should you make a mistake. The more precise your aeroponics operation is, the better your results will be.

Like Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) systems, the nutrient solution in aeroponics systems is analyzed, augmented and reused. Some types of aeoponics systems will mist the roots in cycles while others constantly mist the roots. Either way, aeroponics systems are great at conserving nutrient solution.
